Robogals information session for prospective volunteers in Edinburgh, UK

It's easy to become a member and start contributing. Membership is open to students from any faculty and both guys and girls are welcome. Joining Robogals is a great way to have a positive impact on the next generation of young engineers, while also meeting new friends and having fun with LEGO! Member benefits include:

Volunteering opportunities
Students who join as a teaching volunteer are given appropriate training in sessions at uni, and then help conduct robotics workshops, which could be held at the school or at university. We organise everything with the school, all you need to do is watch out for our emails and sign up to sessions that are at a convenient time for you. Each group will have an experienced volunteer (often a committee member) assigned as the group leader, so you've got nothing to worry about!

There are often also opportunities to volunteer at various Robogals events.

Robogals committee members visit Google during the Robogals national conference in Sydney, September 2010. We heard about life at Google and had a LEGO robotics competition against Google staff!

Executive committee
For those who are feeling even more keen, why not join the executive committee to take on a greater leadership role in your Robogals chapter such as contacting schools or pitching for sponsorship? Not to mention being able to attend the national conference to meet other Robogals members from around the country and help decide the future direction of Robogals as a whole!

Social events And finally, what would a university club or society be without its social aspect? Most Robogals chapters run social events for their members, and for recruitment purposes, such as BBQs, movie nights, dinners and more!
